What Do Vitamins Do for You?

Of course, we know vitamins are crucial for a healthy lifestyle, but do you know why? Vitamins are small nutrients that are critical for your body to properly function. So let’s just run it through and see how much you know about each vitamin!

Vitamin A

Vitamin A supports your teeth, bones, soft tissue and skin. Some fruits that are high in vitamin A include apricots, tangerines, nectarines and mangos.

Vitamin B

So if you know anything about vitamin B, you know there are a lot of variations. There’s B1, B2, B3, B6 and it goes on and on! To highlight some of the vitamin B family’s contributions, they support metabolism, maintain brain function and support your nerves and skin. Vitamin B can be found in citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and clementines.

Vitamin C

We are biased, but vitamin C is one of the best! Vitamin C promotes teeth and gum health. It also absorbs iron and helps the body heal wounds faster. So many fruits are high in vitamin C! Some of our favorites include citrus fruits, apples, bananas, apricots and kiwis!

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is mainly produced in your body after being in the sun. It helps the body absorb calcium which, in turn, promotes teeth and bone health. Not many fruits contain vitamin D except for one of the best, oranges!

Vitamin E and K

These vitamins work together to increase red blood cells and help your blood coagulate regularly. Vitamin E can be found in many fruits such as kiwis, apricots, strawberries, peaches, grapefruits and more! Vitamin K can also be found in kiwis, strawberries, pomegranate and blueberries to name a few.
