Many new year’s resolutions are long gone by now. And for those of you who have stuck with it, things may be feeling a bit stagnant.
A new season is the perfect time to renew your motivation! Not to mention, summer is coming right behind spring. We all want to stay in shape and achieve that glowing summer confidence!
Here are a few tips to keep your workouts interesting:
Get Outside – There’s nothing like crisp, spring morning air. Spring temperatures are perfect for outdoor workouts! Get off the treadmill, out of the gym, and take to the yard, rooftop, or park for a breath of fresh air.
Track Your Progress – If you don’t document your workouts, you’re missing out! Fitness trackers make it easy to track your stats, but you can take it a step further by writing them down. Creating a tangible way to track your improvement over time is rewarding and motivating!
Remember Your Why – If you’re lacking motivation and energy, take a few rest days. Then, use that time to sit down and remember why you choose to workout. Revisit the goals you set for yourself or create new ones. When you get back to working out, be thankful and remember that working out is about celebrating and honoring your body.
Go Hiking – There’s no better time to explore the great outdoors than spring in the Pacific Northwest. The weather is mild, and trails are filled with blooming plants and wildlife emerging after winter. If you don’t know where to start, that’s what the Washington Trails Association is for. Their website has the inside scoop on the best spring hiking spots and tips for a successful trip.
Add Props – Additions like resistance bands, dumbbells, fitness balls, yoga blocks, and foam rollers can take your home workouts to the next level. Most props are cheaper than a monthly gym membership, and they’ll be worth it in the long run. Not only are they fun, but props challenge your muscles and increase your strength in new ways!
