New Activities to Try This Spring

As it gets warmer and (hopefully) less rainy, we know you are itching to spend as much time as possible outdoors. If you’re looking to try something new or switch up your routine, we have some fun, outdoor activities for you to try this spring! Bring a friend and test out one of these activities for some fun in the sun.

1. Pickleball

Pickleball is sweeping the nation, and if you haven’t tried this fun new sport yet, you’re seriously missing out! It has been the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. since 2022. Why? Because it’s easy to understand and perfect for people of any age! The rules are straightforward, and it’s a great opportunity for some friendly competition. So find a local pickleball court and grab your paddles because this is one you have to try!

2. Scrambling

If you haven’t heard of this one, you’re not alone. The name sounds intriguing but this activity is full of fun. Scrambling is a hybrid of hiking and climbing on rocky terrain, perfect for some of our local mountains and trails. In fact, there are even scrambling courses you can take to learn the basics with a team of professionals that will help you along the way! If you’re looking to become more agile on the mountains, this one is definitely for you.

3. Gardening

A much calmer activity but still one that requires focus and determination. If you keep telling yourself you are going to pick up gardening, this is your sign to start this spring! Whether you’re starting with herbs or vegetables, understanding what times are best to garden/harvest is key for budding horticulturists (see what we did there?). What are you waiting for? Head to the store and get what you need to start on your green thumb journey!
