Berry-Picking in the Seattle Area

End of July into August is prime time for raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry harvests. Though Washington is known nationally for its apples and potatoes, now is the perfect time to take advantage of berry season before the fall.

Picking your own fresh fruit ensures fresh, organic produce and supports local farms – and ThirdLeaf NW is all about supporting small and local businesses! Here is a list of u-pick farms in the Seattle area that are open for berry picking.

Biringer Farm

Located in Arlington, Biringer Farm prides itself on having a family-friendly atmosphere set with a playground, climb-on-tractor, and the Jolly Trolley, which will take you out to the berry fields. They are open for raspberry, tayberry, blackberry, and blueberry picking and even have a gift shop!

Schuh Farms

Schuh Farms in Mount Vernon has been selling u-pick berries for almost three generations. The farm even sells their fresh produce and baked goods at local farmers markets!

Remlinger Farms

Over in Carnation, Remlinger Farms is the place to be for a big family. Admission is free for u-pick raspberries, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Its family fun park has miniature carnival rides, a petting farm, a small steam train, and more!

Carpenter Creek Farm

Another u-pick farm in Mount Vernon, Carpenter Creek Farm is dedicated to blueberries. It just opened for the season this past Friday, July 29, so now is the perfect time to pick your blueberries before everyone does! The farm is also home to various types of wildlife such as bald eagles, tree frogs, and others.
