4th of July Desserts

Looking for a last-minute dessert to bring to the family function? Or maybe you’re simply looking for a new recipe to switch things up. Don’t worry, our 4th of July series isn’t over yet. One of these red, white, or blue desserts is bound to be a hit, and they all pair well with some fresh fruit!

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

Starting strong with a classic strawberry rhubarb pie. This sweet pie is the perfect combo of sweetness from sweet strawberries to rich rhubarb. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, and rhubarb also contains antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and bacteria. So it’s semi-healthy and delicious? Count us in!

Coconut Cream Pie

This one is probably more of an acquired taste, but coconut lovers know there is nothing more refreshing than a slice of coconut cream pie. If you’re looking to spice things up, fresh blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries are a great way to garnish the pie either on top or on the side. So even if you’re not a fan of coconut, you can eat the fruit!

Blueberry Crisp

Last but not least, you can never go wrong with a nice blueberry crisp. The melted blueberries with the oats make the best dessert that is simultaneously packed with nutrients. Blueberries are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, and more while oats are also high in fiber and antioxidants. So it’s almost like blueberry crisp is healthy, right?

No matter who you are celebrating the 4th of July with, having an extra dessert or two is always a good idea. Adding refreshing and nutritious fruits is the best way to ensure your dessert is a favorite. We may be biased, but who doesn’t love fruit?
